Located close to the Natural Park of the Estrela Mountains (Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela) and around 5 kilometres from the historical village of Linhares da Beira one can find Mogadouro House (Casa do Mogadouro). The history of the house and the stories related to it are part of the collective memory of the people that inhabit this region of Portugal.

The house dates back to the beginning of the 19th century and it was initially built by a prominent lawyer Afonso de Melo Coutim Pimentel de Castero Saraiva Brandão who used it as his home. However, his son in law, Felismino Marques, a wealthy banker in the region, was the person who contributed most to the house's notability in the region due to his public activity.

In the middle of the XXth century the current owners (Julio Patricio Family) bought the house. The rural environment of the Mogadouro Village continues in the present day.

Here one can enjoy the tranquility and the pleasant company of good-natured people. Although its rural outbuildings were transformed into tourist accommodations Mogadouro House continues to transmit the serenity that one seeks in a rural environment.

At present this house has a living room, dining room, a game room, kitchen and six comfortable rooms with private bathroom facilities. The house's setting allows for its guests to enjoy a view of the nearby mountains while they rest in harmony with nature. In an adjacent space, the cellar, still, and stove that served the local community were preserved and can still be used today - to bake bread or cook. On the top of the cellar one can find a small house that was built in granite with a fireplace which served as the servants quarters in other times.

In the old yard one can still find trees that are home for various types of birds. One can also find a garden, a pool, and a tennis court. These facilities serve to compliment a relaxing stay.
